Water is an example of matter. It is a substance made from hydrogen and oxgen. 

Water has no smell (odourless). Water has no colour (colourless). Water has no taste (tasteless).

CHANGES OF STATE IN WATER. 

MELTING.

When you heat (sun) solid water (snowman), it changes into a liquid. water melts.

                                               EVAPORATION

                              When you heat liquid water it changes into water vapour. It evaporates.

FREEZING.
When you cool liquid water, it changes into a solid. Water freezes. It has a bigger volume.

When water is solid, it expands to occupy more space. It has a bigger volume. 

CONDENSATION.

When you cool water vapour, it changes into a liquid. Water condenses.
