A pure substance consists of only one component. 

A mixture consists of two or more substances together. There are two types of mixtures: 

HETEROGENEOUS MIXTURES: we can see the substances separately. 

HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURES: we can´t see the substances separately. You can´t distinguish the components.
